A small, almost unobtrusive tapping - the first, minor clue that anything was amiss. The guildmistress rubs her eyes tiredly, canceling the focus she had placed on her aura. Just as swiftly she casts her mind outwards, sensing the danger around her - and frowns slightly as the intruder is hidden from her mind.
Wearily she stands, willing her legs to be as cooperative as her still vibrant mind. "I know you are there" the mistress replies softly, the words cast into the shadows. Whether they were heard is another matter.
But after a few moments - each longer then the last - something is thrust from the shadows, landing halfway between the darkness and her feet. A small letter. With a bit of distrust, she moves her hand and fetches the letter. It comes obediently, without hesitation. She opens it, quickly reads, softly gasps.
"You cannot mean -" she says, a hitch to her voice. "I cannot just LEAVE Midgaard!" she shouts to the walls, a touch of anger entering her voice, but even they do not hear. "This is blackmail -" she continues. "I will not stand for it" she growls. But all the same, she sighs, her shoulders hunched. Her face does not betray her - she waits, letting the act go on, and on.
Without warning she has two weapons in her hand, and just as quickly in the air. They rip through the room and drive into the heart of the shadows -
- and clatter uselessly to the floor. The intruder is gone.
She sighs, and makes her plans. Where could she go? Perhaps Mervue, perhaps Solace ... Tika DOES owe her a favor or two, after all.
