As you are all aware we constantly strive to keep A.V.A.T.A.R. fresh
and invent new challenges.
One of these was the creation of "Chromatic dragons" where you'd see the
current dragon race split up into different colors and abilities.

Always a fan of the dragon race, Snikt decided he wanted to take this further.
His goal was to create a new game dynamic where dragons were the
center of everything.
Unfortunately this meant that all other races (and classes as we know them)
would no longer be developed and be grandfathered/removed.

For the past few weeks we have had a heated discussion amongst the host team.
Several objected strongly to this 'new direction' while others were
intrigued by this challenge.
This weekend I've spoken to Snikt on the phone to find a solution.
Eventually we reached an agreement rather than a true solution.

Snikt made it clear he wishes to move on with his new project.
He understands however that many of us don't want to see the world we
together have built destroyed. So instead of doing one or the other,
we decided to split things up.

Snikt has stepped down as owner/implementor and has agreed to transfer
the ownership of the A.V.A.T.A.R. mud to me.

The past 24 hours everything happened at an accelerated pace.
Due to end of the month payments we decided to transfer the server to a new
location(albeit technically at the same provider) asap and thus we had to
go down earlier today.
Several of our staff have decided to go and help Snikt build up this new world.
Others have not decided yet or couldn't be reached in time.

What does this mean for you?
Snikt has allowed us to use the current code and areas and have transferred
all of those.
However, we encountered an issue with the pfiles and for that reason we've
decided to NOT transfer those. (more info on this later)

The split was amicable. There are no hard feelings between either "side" and
we will continue to support one another. Once the details are known many
of us will surely go have a look what the Dragon-Project is all about and
Snikt will welcome us all (expect to be sicced-he is still Snikt after all)

Obviously I hope you will also stay to play A.V.A.T.A.R. and help us
continue on this journey.
