Lords are what heroes aspire to be. They are beings of significant power that reside on a plane separate from Midgaardia called Thorngate, which was built by Lady Astra. There, she and her friend Gilliad watched over the realm, protecting it from the first denizens who tried to invade from the outer planes. Before passing from the mortal realm, Lady Astra used her remaining power to open Thorngate to promising heroes so that they could take her place alongside Gilliad, defending the mortals of Midgaardia. As defenders of the realm, Lords venture to distant planes and work together to vanquish evil creatures who would seek to upset the natural order of the world and cause harm to its inhabitants.
After reaching a certain level of power, some Lords may choose to be reborn as mortals by remorting into a new RACES or CLASSES. Remorting provides players with the opportunity to experience another aspect of the MUD that is not available to everyone.
