Gnomes typically inhabit rolling, rocky hills that are both well wooded and far from human communities. They are very similar in appearance to dwarves, and are also renowned as excellent miners. Most gnomes have earthy skin tones, whitish hair, and eyes of grey-blue to bright blue. They wear clothing of leather or earth tones, and are fond of jewelry.

The typical gnome is short in stature, yet slightly stronger than a human, a little more deft, and tend to be a little bit wiser. Like their dwarven cousins they have somewhat of a resistance to magic but, unlike dwarves, tend to be above average at spellcasting. Because of their tendencies to stay away from humans, they are not completely accepted in human communities.
