we should all invade some random hotel or pub dressed as our favorite alts. of course, all the mages would be wearing dresses...and I'm not sure you can board a plane wearing death armor.

Many years ago, back in my SCA days (when the world was new) and before there was an Avatar, the Barony in which I (still) reside was hosting a war between two neighboring kingdoms. This was when metal detectors at airports were very very new and you didn't have them everywhere.
We went to the airport to pick up some guys who had flown down from the Washington State area. They told us this story, and I believe it.
You see, SCA fighters get used to the weight of their armor. It becomes second nature to walk around wearing 100 pounds of metal. However, you paid a lot of money if you wanted to check it. The guys with the plate had to pay and grumble, however, one guy used chain mail. So he wore it. Under his clothes.
He walked up to the metal detector, it was the first time he had had to go through one. It, of course, went off. He took of his belt, put his keys in the basket, emptied his pockets, took off his shoes, all to no avail.
They took him aside and ran a hand held scanner over him and of course it went insane. He went "DOH" and opened his shirt showing his chain mail.
Yes, this was about 1980 or so, so yeah, they let him on the plane.
